I'm looking for a low cost vibration meter. I'm taking measurements off of a handheld device(as opposed to industrial machinery or shipping container contents). Data logging would be useful.

Something like the Extech vb300 might do the trick(http://www.extech.com/instruments/product.asp?catid=54&prodid=618) , but I've read some less than charitable reviews of it. Has anyone here used one of these or something similar?
