Hi,

I volunteer with a recently started NPO that specializes in pre1930's railroad equipment restoration. Most of us are based in western MA and we operate as part of the CT Valley Chapter of the NRHS. As we're new, we need lots of things. At current we would love to own or know someone who would let us use their:

1) ultrasonic thickness tester

2) welder

3) air compressor (tow behind size, I'm led to believe, I know nothing about compressors. We need to be able to run a sand blaster, at least)

4) radial drill

5) vertical lathe

This equipment would be used to help restore the 1915 Porter locomotive in Palmer, MA to start and then could be applied to other projects. Great opportunity for a tax deductible donation too! We'd also love to have you come and help with a project, if you're in the area and interested. Please keep your ears to the ground for us!

Many thanks,

Kelly and the rest of the Iron Horse Engineering crew
