Have you had a smartphone with Gorilla Glass from Dow Corning? As a Motorola enthusiast, my last two phones have had it and I must admit, while not indestructible, it is a serious upgrade to the phones I'd had before, and didn't seem to add heft, weight, or screen sensitivity compromises. I only recently stopped carrying my keys in the same pocket as my phone (Silly, I know), and after over a year cohabitating, my Defy+ only had a couple of very light scratches which greatly increased the re-sale value after I decided to upgrade to a Razr.  Have you had a phone with Gorilla Glass, and was the difference noticeable?

Check out their plans (and reasons) for entering the auto market here from Phys.org:

(Phys.org) —Corning Senior Vice President, Jeffrey Evenson told audience members at this year's MIT Technology Review's Mobile Summit, that its Gorilla Glass will very soon be used in automobiles. Currently, Gorilla Glass is used as part of a touch-screen for hand-held devices—from phones to tablet computers. Using the glass in automobiles Evenson said, would allow for better gas mileage and noise suppression.
