If you're an engineer now, it's likely that you don't regret it as a career choice. And if you're considering getting into engineering after high school, there are few careers that will give you more bang for your university buck. College costs have exploded (along with student debt), and a practical career choice like engineering is one of the only hopes of surviving the debt you're likely to take on. Sure, a non-practical degree might work out fine, but it's likely to be a harder, longer road to financial stability later on.

'Anne-Marie Koukourava, head of wealth for HSBC in the UK, said: “The combination of challenging employment prospects for young people with the introduction of higher education fees appears to have been the catalyst for a swing towards vocational university courses, which are seen as a safer investment in terms of graduate job opportunities.”'
